YANZ is committed to empowering Aotearoa's youth through creativity. Our range of initiatives includes Te Kāhui - a creative writing program specifically designed for vulnerable youth - as well as internships and paid gig work opportunities. These programs are designed to provide young people with the skills, opportunities, and support they need to succeed in their creative pursuits and build a better future for themselves.
Our Event Pathways Programme equips 6 young Pasifika interns with the confidence, networks and resources to work in the live events sector.

A captivating winter youth performance festival, electrified the bustling streets of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland with the dynamic sounds and infectious energy of talented rangatahi musicians.
We worked alongside Abbey Barlow, a talented young designer from the Kaipātiki region, to create a website and brand identity for Kaipātiki Sounds that was playful, vibrant and reflective of the Kaipātiki area.
We collaborated with 2 local visual artists to design a mural inspired by the local environment and te ao Māori.
We were tasked by TDF to create an engaging performance to kickstart their 2021 Gala Dinner.
We collaborated with Festival for the Future to provide opportunities for young musicians to perform at their main conference and at Parliament.
Collaborating with 8 young visual artists and designers from the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board region, we celebrated Youth Week 2021 with the theme ‘We’re Stronger Together’.

In collaboration with Fresh Concept, Youth Arts New Zealand was tasked with filling Takapuna’s newest public space, 38 Hurstmere, with youth-centred creative activations all throughout the summer of 2020-21.
