Creativity is the thread that weaves aroha, passion and empathy into the rich tapestry of our national identity. It allows us to channel and share our human emotions in a way nothing else can. New Zealand fosters an incredible amount of creative talent for such a small country - our creative industries alone contribute $17.5b annually to our GDP. Yet, there is an immense disconnect between the wealth of creative pursuits available, and the number of creative opportunities that exist for our rangatahi. This divide has now reached a critical point.
Our youth mental health crisis is worsening, our education system doesn’t see creativity as a viable career pathway, and organisations nationwide are cutting arts funding. If we don’t create environments and opportunities for young creatives to flourish, our nation’s creativity will slowly fizzle out, and will only occur within dreams. Aotearoa cannot lose its creativity - without it, our lives would not just be dull and grey, but we would run out of ways to solve societal challenges.
The support of our Patrons enables us to develop and deliver resources and opportunities for young people aged 15-22 that will enable them to connect, to showcase, and to develop their creative abilities. I invite you to join us and to invest in the creative future of Aotearoa.
Join us in our mission to back creative young New Zealanders.
We are looking for partners at every level of the creative industry to help us grow our creative future as a nation. Get in touch now, we’d love to talk about how we can work together!
