Youth Arts NZ COVID-19 Response

May 4, 2020

Kia ora koutou,

We are certainly living in unprecedented times, and I hope you and your whānau are staying safe.

As of last Friday, and consistent with the Government's announcement yesterday, Youth Arts New Zealand has cancelled all upcoming events and programmes for the foreseeable future. We are actively working towards digitalising opportunities for young creatives to connect, showcase and develop. As is the case with a huge numbers of businesses globally, we are having to re-think the entire way we operate and continue to have impact in this difficult time.

What we're doing:

In the coming weeks, we will be actively seeking opportunities with which young creatives can continue to create and get paid for their work.. Self-expression and connection is more important than ever in this time of crisis and isolation, and we are working hard to bring the arts sector together to support our creative rangatahi.

What you can do to support us:

  1. Stay home, and listen to official advice!
  2. Encourage young creatives to sign up at youtharts.co.nz/sign-up
  3. Support our mahi at youtharts.co.nz/donate
  4. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn for updates
  5. Say hello! hello@youtharts.co.nz

Ngā mihi,

Matthew and the YANZ team
